There are so many ways you could go with this topic and the historical context but it wasn’t written well at all! All of the characters were fairly awful in the way they treated each other, but this was necessary to demonstrate the impossible and unthinkable choices that people face as a result of war. This is a play about women, mothers and sacrifice. I think the idea was a good one and the subject of the Kindertransport is fascinating, but the characters and dialogue just didn’t do it for me. Worthy subjects do not good literature make.
