Be the first to add this to a list. In most areas of applied physics it is very important to know the basics concepts of group theory, but there is no need to have a deep ggoup as well as to know how to proof all the main theorems.

Get to Know Us. A compact and worthwhile compilation of the scattered material on standard methods, this volume presumes a basic understanding of quantum theory. Flinders University Central Tinkhzm.
These 6 locations in Victoria: Chapter 7, on applications to molecular quantum mechanics, is now quite dated. Some of the views auantum a little outdated specifically the applications to molecular QM, particularly in leiu of Ligand-Field Theory and he doesn’t really cover the effects of antisymmetric wavefunctions for electrons nor ever mentions Mulliken in molecular QM.

Zheng Ma added it Jan 08, ttinkham Particularly insightful was Tinkhams discussions of the Bloch wavefunction as a consequence of the Abelian symmetry group. After taking the math course, I was presented with group theory as if it were quantym muddled mix of facts, and the course came across as a poorly taught class on number theory.
