Fowler has been through a situation similar to the storyline of the book and she makes this plain to anyone interested in the book. Short version of the plot: As far as characters are concerned, I found them all to be very realistically portrayed and enjoyable to read about, although I think Amelia lacked a bit of depth and personality.

Young adult books are outside my normal reading genres, but this book came highly recommended by a friend. It was uncomfortable and accurate.
