This is one of the greatest stories of history and Iggeldon’s fictionalized recounting is masterful. Hugely enjoyable and highly recommended Give as a gift.
It was already well established that Iggulden is incredibly well read with the historical aspect of the story and of course with the extremely vivid battle sequences, but relationships and plot twists in this book were sometimes too much to bear. Whoever becomes Great Khan needs to keep the people together if he is to rule successfully and continue to war on multiple fronts. As he farewells his son and tries to “enjoy” or absorb his last moments, missing his wife, he takes a deep breath and kneels to die. This has been a great Historical Fiction series that I have enjoyed so much. Thank goodness for Historical Notes. Empire of Silver Conqueror 4 by Conn Iggulden. I struggled in each part to grasp where exactly we were starting from.
In the end, only one can command. While doing all of this they were igguldden Tsubodai will face heavily armoured veteran Teutonic and Templar Knights. He was born Temujin, son of a khan, raised in a clan of hunters migrating across the steppe.
I suppose the one thing that links all those is the love of a good tale. Before reading this book, I knew Iggulden only by reputation. Overall rating No ratings yet 0. This is the final installmen I remember starting this series and thinking to myself just how little information we usually get about the Eastern cultures trough our educational system.
Helpless without their ships, they must find some refuge in that hostile country and begin the laborious work of making the vessels seaworthy again. Then the action really heats up and like the previous books it is really good. They were the original badasses.

If I had read this book as a standalone, without its three predecessors, I think that I may have awarded it five stars.
