After reading it once, I feel both a confusion for what I missed and an eagerness to continue sifting for the gems that are inside. In pispector moments when it does shine, however, it shines with an intensity that leaves one feeling a little stunned. View all 6 comments. It’s hard to really judge the merit of this book since it was left unfinished by the time she died. For better or worse. Once again Clarice was incredible in the way she crystalises such delicate and contencious aspects of human emotion – this book touched me a lot and I’d highly recomend it to anyone in a fragil state after having lost a beloved one.
