I don’t think I want to ever read another book by Sawyer. An interesting concept but a pretty silly book. A passionate advocate for science fiction, Sawyer teaches creative writing and appears frequently in the media to discuss his genre.


Also, we’re halfway through the book before one character finally points out the obvious about the flashforward events. Then I reach the end and I feel like it could have been more.

I finished it only because it was a super fast read and I had no other book with me. His non-characters’ wooden dialogue is broken up only when they become walking Wikipedia entries about theoretical physics. It gets tepid in many, many places. I found this book boring. The idea is interesting, but the writing was poor.
