Verdon’s writing, which started out ddscargar good, has improved dramatically from his first book to this next one – the transitioning is smoother, the details are maintained in a more orderly fashion, and the writing overall has a higher quality. To say much more about the plot would probably be unfair; suffice it to say that this is a complex, densely plotted and very entertaining novel with more than the usual number of unexpected twists and turns.
